Power can lead to inequality and suffering. Conditions were extremely bad on animal farm, boxer had been injured then sent to a glue factory, and the pigs had started walking on their hind legs. Clover asked Benjamin to read the seven commandments that were once written on the wall that had represented freedom, and a common goal to run the farm with peace and true equality, but all that remained was "all animals are equal but some are more equal than others" (123). The pigs wanted the rest of the animals to still believe that the farm was right on track with their original goals even though Napoleon had essentially became the new Jones. All of the animals equality, freedom and happiness had been taken away but very few realized what was happening and were powerless to stop Napoleon's acts of unfair leadership. The new amendment on Animal Farm kept most animals thinking they were all equals when in reality the pigs and especially Napoleon were much more powerful. When power is put into the wrong trotters others will suffer.
